Empowering Mama's Worldwide With Yoga | New Episode

"It's not too late to find a loving family for him" A friend said to me mere weeks before my due date. Days before my baby shower.

Why? Because when she asked if I was excited, I said "No, I can wait"

I was shocked this was her initial response. 😱 Can you believe this Reader?

Naturally, my situation as a single mother is not ideal. I never thought this would be me and I shamefully cringe at myself using those words even thought I know I shouldn't. But it's normal (I hope) to be daunted by the idea of becoming a mother and being OK with time to yourself before your world changes forever right?!

At no point have I ever thought about not being his Mum. I was just happy to stay pregnant a little bit longer and have some more time for me and tying up loose ends in my business before he arrived.

Today's episode if for all the Mum's (or Mom's for the North American's) in the audience trying to balance growing a business and raise little ones.

It's also for anyone interested in running retreats as part of their business model. Claudia from HolyMama is a genius retreat host who's carved a unique niche in the industry by running retreats specifically for Mum's and children. Navigating the logistics of that alone requires incredible event organization skills!

I loved this conversation with Claudia as I prepared myself for motherhood. She's such an inspiration and it's clear she's here to help lift Mama's up.

I think her business model is such a neat idea considering everyone tells you travel is over when you become a Mum, especially a single Mum but I choose NOT to believe them and Claudia is living proof of that!

After you listen hit reply and let me know your thoughts, would you like to attend a retreat with your children? Would you like to host an event with children?

All the best,

Adrianne Jerrett

Hi! I'm a Showit Website Designer & Host of The All Mats Taken Podcast for Yoga Teachers

I’m Adrianne, a web designer in NZ with way too many yoga mats, loads of strategy and a whole lot of heart. I began Jerrett Digital Website Design & The All Mats Taken Podcast because I saw so many yoga teachers and wellness brands leaving money on the table. Their brands and websites looked good, but had no strategy, no intuitive user experience, and no obvious pathway to conversion. In my newsletter, podcast and through online events I help teach yoga teachers and wellness professionals grow their online presence and build their businesses with strategy and heart their way.

Hi Reader, I’ll be honest (and you may have already heard me say this) but Instagram…scratch that…social media is not my favorite place to be. It’s just not how I spend my time naturally. I'm aging myself somewhat saying this but I didn't grow up with it. Facebook only came to be a thing for us in my late teens and I didn't have a smart phone till my mid-twenties (I was a late adopter however). I just never really got the hang of it personally so it's a challenge to force myself...

Hi Reader, Business and marketing has been an ongoing fascination for me. It doesn't come naturally like some other things. This is one reason I started this community. I'm not a business coach, expert, or guru. I'm a brand/website designer and newbie yoga teacher/educator. I've got questions and like you, I’m seeking the answers. This week I came across a local retreat seeking yoga teachers and other holistic wellness professionals. It sounds like a great opportunity but I've never taught...

Hi Reader, For the past 6 months since having my boy asana has been a very minimal (practically non-existent) part of my life and routine. It's only been in the past few weeks now that he's sitting up on his own and a bit happier to play by himself with his newfound independence that I've been able to get back on my mat for Mums and Bubs classes once a week. While I missed being able to connect with my body in this way, this time also opened up space for me to explore the other limbs and more...
